purduefarmboy460-

As you can see in my signature I have a 6 speed tranny, and with all the other mods I have goin' when I hit about 3,000 rpm is where I get my maximum boost as from there of course it starts going downhill That is with my TS chip on it's lowest setting of 50 hp, propane on, and ICP switch on, and in 3rd gear but will also do it in 4th gear actually excluding 1st gear as granny gear. Other than the TS chip I just changed from a Superchips chip I had been using for the last 6 years I have been getting this boost since the year 2003 to the present day after changing turbos. 5th, and 6th gear will do the same but a slower rate to get there, and even in the other positions of the chip get the same results only at a faster rate of spoolup of the turbo, and getting to speed faster. Usually like I said above don't go over 30lbs of boost though as don't get much more power above 30lbs which make sense being the turbo is mainly made to work at a max of 26-28 lbs of boost. Which means it is capable of 38lbs but usually shift at 30lbs of boost for maximum efficiency which is about 3,000 rpm.
Hope I have been of some help, and answered your questions.

Larry

Talking Boost problem??

I was thinking that the title of this thread is starting not to match me anymore. I have to push my super hard to get 30psi but my X can tag 30psi in a drag race. The 42 which I have only done on a few times was on a 6% grade in 3rd with the T/C lock on. I didn't stay there and my eyes were glued to the boost so I'm not sure exactly what else was going on. I would think maybe 55mph at 2400rpm? My wallets not thick enough to try this again without some other big dollar upgrades. I did get a TS chip for the X today. That should be good for a few broken parts. I also removed the muffler and built an expansion chamber in its place. It's been raining so hard this week you can barely here the radio.
