Hypertech programmer for 2000 or 2001?

A guy I work with sold his 01 7.3 and has a hypertech programmer model #41040. The box and manual says for 95-03 7.3 powerstroke engines. The programmer itself says for 01-03. I have read that this is just the updated part # and should work on any powerstroke previous to 2003. I'm just to paranoid to try it and risk screwing up my truck. Has anyone ran into this before?

Long story short, will the hypertech 41040 work on a 2000 7.3?!

That part number will not work on a 2000 model. You need a Max Energy 42500 to work on that vehicle.

i know the transmissions solenoids were different in later model trucks also pcm codes might be different, as far as everything else goes they are the exact same.
