Does it matter if you use AFE oil or K&N?? I heard it was the same stuff... And have any of ya'll put ( I was told panty hose) over the outside of your filters?

Just supposed to filter out some of the large particles from getting to the filter, bugs, whatever, I think it would help extend the service intervel
