Cool Spiral snap ring on the injector?

I came across this video of someone working on a 7.3. He recommends the top steal back up needs to be replaced with a spiral snap ring Hercules pt. no. WH-150

I was able to locate the part he used.

Hydraulic cylinder repair seals and kits-Hercules Sealing Products - Hydraulic Seals and replacement cylinders for construction and many other heavy equipment industries.

Any thoughts on this?

Good point! I think the OEM are starting to fail at 200,000 miles. I can't hold 2800 ICP past half throttle. Any more and it falls right to 1800...If they go that long again before needing new injectors I'd be happy. Interesting concept though....
