Diesel Innovations 6 Pos

Well, I got my 6 pos from David Lott at Diesel Innovations last week and decided to put it in on Thurs before going to take care of the G/f. I had a little trouble getting the computer out but once I talked to my buddy at the dealer, I had it out in about 15 mins. Surprise surprise, there was already some sort of turner installed on the computer. I'll post some pics of it and see if anyone can ID it. Got the Diesel Innovations 6 pos installed, made a hole for switch with an RC reamer and got it all buttoned up. (Did all the work in the Advanced Auto Parts parking lot just in case I needed something.) So...good 'ol Brisco started up on the first try, and I let him warm up before hitting the streets.

Get the POO outta here! I made the greedy mistake of flipping straight to the "Extreame" setting. WOW. Nothing but soot, wheel-spin, compressor surge, and a big yellow SES light.

On extreame the truck is a smoke machine. Just barely taping the throttle sends my new BFGs up in smoke and chokes everyone w/ in 50 feet.

Over the last few days I've mostly been in the "daily" or "race" settings having some fun. But the compressor surge is ticking me off. The Tow/Haul setting is pretty much the best for getting around and not filling everyone elses cars with soot.

Almost forgot: Here are the settings for the 6 pos; Stock, Tow/haul, Daily (economy), Race, Xtreme, and Valet.

All in all, I can't express how happy I am! Next is the new compressor, new MAP/CPS sensors, and the boost limiter for the MAP. Anything else I need guys? I don't need anymore power right now. Just wanna keep the truck from exploding.

yeah I hear ya man on the surge from the turbo. My TS does the same thing and it pisses me off. I wish Ford would have never switched to the "quiet" and "improved" compressor wheel. So, thats next on my list too, that along with a good boost fooler for the old MAP sensor. What kind of boost can you hit now? I can hit 30 lbs locked up in overdrive at about 80-85 mph but I am also running 315's so that might make a difference. Makes that turbo sing a lot though.

yeah...got the gaugues

I'm hitting around 27psi. I also have 315/75/16's with the 6spd. I'm too scared to let it boost too hard.

yeah Ive tested it out only once or twice with the hammer down pretty hard... hope that stocker turbo lasts me awhile longer, but if not it gives me an excuse to go a little bigger.

naw...I NEED to do the map line mod. I keep setting off the SES light from too much boost. It's scary to drive. I feel like I'm gonna blow it up b/c of the turbo whistling soo loud and the surge.

I had the same problem at first, the MAP sensor plug in will solve that problem, there are a couple of vendors here that sell them, hit 'em up.
