Talking Searching For--

The best place I have searched for parts is Ebay. You can get the whole package by Bullydog for about 1300. Hope this helps

I'm behind the edge products all the way, the evoloution gave me power, torque, smoke, and economy. I was just borrowing one. Hopefully mine will be on order shortly. I have several guys running them in my area, no complaints.

Ohhhhh, the smoke!

I was running a SuperChips max tuner on my early 99, but I recently dumped it for a TS Perormance 6 position chip. I had it programmed with anti-theft, stock, 50, 75, 100, and 140hp extreme settings. The SuperChips did pretty well, but didn't produce much smoke which i'm a fan of. The TS chip eats the old superchips up even on just the 75 horse setting. When I put the TS switch on level six, my truck lays down quite a bit of smoke (on stock injectors!) through most of the rpm band until my turbo catches up. The cloud is enough that i've even seen people divert around the "puff" as if their vision is obstructed. As for the acceleration, it's real quick for just the chip and exhaust. Any questions please e-mail me at Goodfella8243@yahoo.com

I have a Bully Dog "4 Bank 6 Position" chip in an 02 4x4 crew cab. 99 would be proud because on the high setting, mine will also lay down a smokescreen that would make 007 jealous. It will also cause the air filter restriction light to come on, so I won't be running it there until I upgrade my intake system. The performance difference even on the lower setting is very noticeable. Extreme Diesel Performance is who I got it from. They seemed to have the best prices I could find.

Okay, finially got my own Edge Evoloution this weekend... Matched it up with an AFE Magum Force Stage 1 intake, and put in a 0-80 horse Potensiometer. (when I turn this on, it makes the truck surge like a puller ) I love it. The intake dries up ALOT of the smoke but I can still leave a cloud from 0-90 mph if I don't let out. I'm gonna run some 1/4 mile times sometime in the near future, and 0-60 as well. I feel bad for the ricers on campus... especially those convertables

I had a Superchips microtuner before I switched to a 4bank chip. Wow what a difference. I have a 4 position flip chip from TS performance (50, 75, 125, fuel 2). It was the best money I ever spent. On that same note, I hope you all have guages and are watching your EGTs, otherwise your fun could be very short lived with a melted piston. Even in my 75 hp setting with an open element air filter and exhaust my EGTs will climb over 1300 in a hurry.

Is there really a lot of difference in the 4Bank compared to the Superchips Tuner? Superchips is supposed to go up to 110HP, right?

Chippin in on knowledge

lem the superchips horsepower ratings are at the engine, whereas the TS chip that i'm running on mine the numbers are at the wheels. (my TS chip has a 140hp max) So in essence they claim you lose about 15% through your drivetrain, then you're getting around 90-95 horse from the superchips max setting. I put my TS chip on 75hp and it seemed to pull just as strong as my superchips 110hp high perf setting. I need to drop in an ATS tranny if i'm gonna run it a lot on the higher settings as my stock tranny throws away too much of the added power....

I agree with 99smokin, there is definitley a difference between the Superchips Microtuner and a 4Bank chip. The microtuner has to be compatible with all the 7.3L powerstrokes, which means different computers, different engine components, etc. Therefore its programming has to be very vague, as opposed to a 4Bank chip that is designed for your specific computer code. Not only does a chip increase your engine performance but it also changes your shift points and shift firmness. In my fuel 2 setting (140hp) My tires will break loose when it shifts into 2nd gear, and sometimes on the 3rd gear shift depending on the outside air temp.
