does exhaust brand matter much??

even though i wanted a quiet exhaust I decided to go for a straight pipe.. i guess i can allways do other stuff to quiet the indise (tubing door seal and such)

so, tot he main point.. i was lookign at the aluminized MBRP 4" kit (about $350 or so plus shipping) and came across a same/similar kit on ebay for $275 shipped.. This One

question is would they perform the same? they seem to be mandrel bent, and since there its just mandrel bent tubing i figure its all the same ?!?

Our trucks are a money pit.. hehe where ever can save some $, it would help towards the next mod ("chip")..

I will tell you there are name brands that we have a line on that I will not install, and you wont see them on my site. You get what you pay for is true to this topic. I do have a good brand that I can get awfully close to that price on, and if you want a chip I can work out a package deal. Most of the supporters of this website can and will do this for you. But you have to call to findout. To be a verified dealer, most manufacturers require us to advertise a certain price. Plus the system I am refering to comes with a muffler!

I'd say that brand has less to do with it and quality is the main idea. How is it made as far as bends and what material and gauge of material. I'd stay away from Ebay and use your forum supporters so you'll have somebody to call when it doesn't exactly fit right and you need a little help 'after' hours. You get the customer service that you pay for - very very true.

kamaleon,

Discount is right we stock two brands because they go out the door customer like it and we don't have problems with them. We have carried others but when they aren't right we drop them like a hot rock.

My exp has led me to believe that with exhausts, if you want the install to be easy, able to do it yourself, and fit correctly then the slightly more expensive name brands Ie:Banks, MBRP, Magnaflow will be the best. Especially when using the muffler for other reasons, if you're straight piping it you can gamble with the no-name brand but you may have problems fitting it up. I think our sponsors are doing a fine job above here so hopefully you can buy from one of them since the ones that have posted have installed and used these systems they're selling! Good insight!

I have the 4inch turbo back banks exhaust on my 350 with the power elbow and its an excellent fit. My buddy got the 4inch afe for his 04 6.0liter and it didnt fit for beepbeepbeepbeep!! So id say from that experince to stay away from afe but as for banks I couldnt be happier nice and quite but still has a great sound!

I have not installed an AFE exhaust system on a 7.3l. It installs great on the 6.0l trucks. MBRP and Banks both install fantastic, but Banks is alot more money. I truely believe MBRP to be the best bang for the buck and AFE to be second. We carry Magnaflow (very nice) Diamond Eye (junk) Banks (very very nice, over priced) MBRP (my favorite) AFE ( second favorite) Hog Performance (nice but expensive), and others like Dynomax, Corsa, Flowmaster, and probably 5 others I cant think of right now. But this is all my opinion, and Im sure some would disagree, and thats ok.
