edge plug in question

i'm gonna get an edge, but i have ran into a delima...... i have a 99 chassis with a 2001 engine. i was told by an edge owner on ebay that the 01 edge would not plug in to the 99 due to the pettel plug in? is this true.... or should i just buy one for a 99 or would it not plug into my 01 engine

99-2003 should be the same so you shoud not have any problem. when you buy it it says it will fit those years.
