550 tow upgrade receipe

Building a 00' 6sp 550 tow rig, want more power and some thing reliable. going with dp tuner for sure. now for questions. Gt38 or h2e? Which one will produce better bottom end? I have a hypermax h2e spotted for $1000. Injectors...Stage 1 or hybrids. I have search but not found any real answers. I would like 400-425 reliable power with good fuel mileage. Those are the most important. Any thought?

Thanks

The 38r will be at it's limits with 550hp. The H2e would be a better choice but it requires all new plumbing which doubles the cost. If the 400-425hp number is acceptable to you, the 38r would be perfect along with some 160/80's or 160/100's, you would need 238-250cc for 550hp, stage one's are usually about 160cc with stock nozzles which would only be good for about 375-400hp.

400-450hp...

Modded H2e
230/100 Hybrids from P.I.S.
Tuning from No Limit on a Hydra Chip...

Done.

Skip the DP tuner, your locked in, if your not happy your buying more hardware.

You could stick with the 38R, but its loud, not rebuildable and at its limits at 400hp or so...

Keep in mind with the injectors from P.I.S you get free tuning from No Limit...

Economy is purly dependant on your right foot. Don't plan on getting better MPG with a high HP motor, any improvement is just a bonus.

The main downside to the H2e is the cost, it may be slightly harder to keep spooled with your 6 speed vs the 38r but shouldn't be too bad.
