Unplug or not

I hear people say unplug your waste gate, then some say no, its better if you leave it plugged in. Which is true? Will it hurt anything? i just got a new turbo, and don't want to hurt it

Stock turbo I would unplug it. Aftermarket turbo I would run it both ways. Which ever way it runs best is the way I would run it. If it is not going to hurt nothing on a stock turbo with it unplugged I don't see how it would hurt anything unplugged on the aftermarket turbo.

If your running the stock wastegate then with out a doubt unplug it. I would aslo get an aftermarket wastegate for it. The stock one is rated to open up around 22psi.

Leave it plugged in. Especially on a stock turbo. The stock turbo is out of it's map by the time you get to 30 psi and if you are making over that by unplugging it you are just heating the air and not getting any more mass into the engine. I've seen it actually gain power on the dyno by plugging it back in. There have also been several guys post on here that after plugging it back in they noticed more power and their fuel mileage went up.

your stock injectors, I may be wrong here, will not create enough boost to put your TN out of its map, so do a few test runs on it and see which way you like it better

Agreed.

Stock injectors = TN not working hard at all.

No reason to unplug.

unplug it but get a boost fooler

you just need to get a boost fooler and put inbetween the map sensor and the actuator it blows the valve at around 24 psi so that your truck does not go into de fueling mode and you loose power but with out one you not gonna be able to feel much of a difference because your truck is gonna underfuel it self trying to keep the boost down but that fools the map sensor so that your still getting all the fuel your truck needs and thats when you will see the difference
