confused!!!

Alright, I'm trying to make up my mind as to what I should get to improve performace. I have a 2000 7.3 and I'm not sure if a ts chip is the way to go,the Quadzilla programmer, Banks unit .....????. I've read the problems that CHenry was having. Anyone ever use a Banks? What about a Microchips 1705? Should transmission timing be in there? Any help would be appreciated.

CHenry is having problems with his injectors, he's not sure what the culprit is yet but he's only had his programmer and vegi for a short period of time. The Quad is an awesome programmer, however I beleive there are better ones out there.

Banks is safe, low power increases for a good chunk of change. Don't count on any of them backing you in court when it blows your tranny/clutch either...

Tiger just about any programmer is going to add wear and tear to your transmission. But it all depends on how hard you get on it and how often. The higher powered stuff is pretty awesome though. If you put the money into a good clutch or a torque converter/valve body you'd be fine for even the highest powered chip. Edge and banks seem to provide moderate gains, but custom tuned chips like the TS or DP-tuner and Tony Wildman chips are probably the best bang for the buck.

Yeah, I will have to go with adam and Marty on this one. I have the TS and the commander and love them both. I had a few issues out of my commander at first, but got those straightened out and all is good now.

A VB or ShiftKit would be nice, however on his 2000 I'm sure he's past the 30-50k mark of where you don't want to do any mods to the tranny because it has already started to wear a a certain way and if you change that you could end up needing a rebuild sooner rather then later.

Even thought we prefer that TS chip because of cost, I wouldnt put down the Edge Evolution for a 7.3L. It too does a good job. We mostly sell the TS chips, and have had great success with them. Larry runs one in his 2000 Excursion stacked with a 6 gun. I wouldnt call a TS chip custom, If I had to have a custom for a 7.3l I would look at Toney. A trany cooler would be a good idea for the trans. Do gauges for sure! Atleast EGT and Trany.

Whooo there cowboy! I have spent the last 2 weeks trying to prove that my issues are not related to my fuel and I'm about to have the proof one way or the other so i really don't need you running all over the net saying my problems are because of Vegi oil untill it's a proven fact. This has not been concluded...speculated by some but not proven...yet.
I have more people telling me the power mod WAS in fact what caused the failure because of different fule pressures, flow rates, injector timing, all of which have been known to make these injectors fail the same way mine did.

The 6.0 injectors are different than the 7.3 so i wouldn't worry about it if i had a 2000 model.
