Quad Commander Tranny Sensor and Boost PSI??

Hey Guys,

2003 7.3L PSD.....

I have the TS 6pos and the Commander installed, the tranny temp reading hasnt moved off of 104 degrees..WTF? It can be 65 degree in the morning and as soon as it fires up it reads 104. And in the evening, through 1 hour or so of Arizona stop and go traffic it still reads 104. It hasnt moved up or down...

Also, whats to be expected from the boost indicator? At idle it reads 0, which is normal i guess, when I mash the pedal I havent gotten over 14psi reading. Average cruising boost reads about 5psi at 80mph running 2250 rmps...Is this normal, or should I be looking into something here. I thought I read these things are supposed to be putting out 27psi....

I'm having the exact same issue on the Boost. Not sure what the deal is.
Not any problem with the tranny temp. You got the right wire plugged in and the temp probe installed right?

You could call quad and talk with them. I worked with Jeremy and he was super helpful. They will work with you till you get her figured out.

I am seeing boost numbers as high as 22-24psi. No problems here. You have the right truck selected don't you?

Yep, went through the setup of the Quad Commander, selected my year, and truck, Larry from DPP told me to make sure I did that otherwise It would defualt to the Cummings settings. I didnt know if the MAP sensor likes to go and this is one of the indications that its going, or if its something else I need to look at. I know when I feel the turbo kick in, but even completely mashed I dont get over 14psi...

The tranny probe came already attached to the wire lead. I lossened the end, pulled out the tranny plug in the side where it goes, and threaded it in. Tightened up the nut on the end where the wire goes, and zip tied it out of the way.

Yeah with the 7.3 you should be able to get to the low to mid 20s

Hey Marc,

I havent been on the performance side of the PSD to know all of the specs. But the truck is performing, and even better with the TS 6pos. What I can say, is that stock vs stock, my 2000 PSD with 265k performed better than my 2003 I now have. I was thinking that maybe there was something different or wrong because my 2003 felt gutless compared to my 2000. Obviously with the chip there is no comparision, but if I had an underlying problem, then I need to address it, and figure out what it is. Or, maybe its nothing but me.....I dont know...should I have it checked or "pull codes" as they say? I heard someone say that Autozone can pull the codes if its having problems for free....Any suggestions...I will be calling Quadzilla tomorrow to ask some questions....
