1999 Turbo Swap?

I have an early 99 PSD with the factory turob setup.
Is there a way to convert my motor to a late 99-03 7.3L turbo setup?
What will I have to do to make it work? Is it worth the conversion?
Thanks, Jake.

I was wondering the same thing. My turbo shaft has a slight wobble in it and I would rather replace it with a better turbo then the old one. Please help us!!!!!!!

I have also been told that I would need the pedistal and a blank flange? does this sound right?

If you just do a rebuild kit, if you have the bigger tubo, why would you want a newer style one?

I thought the older turbo was smaller than the 99.5?

I know there are some differences between the two, just not sure what all of them are I know the intakes are smaller than the 99.5 and the pedistals are different also. Check this out it might help some

There is not enough to gain unless you go to the aftermarket BB turbo or a Turbonetics. To use either of these you need the 99.5 and up kit to do this.

The early 99 is smaller, but it's not worth the headache of changing stuff over to the late 99 setup. I'd go with an aftermarket turbo like Mech said that way you have a considerable gain for the mone/work put into it.
