Water meth without retune

I recently purchased a cooling mist stage I setup and I want to run it but have been told I need to get new tunes from dp. I was wondering if anyone knows why that is and if they have done it or if it is ok to run without getting new tunes thanks in advance

The recommendation is because meth is a power adder that modifies the burn rate of regular diesel or otherwise known as advanced timing. Without adjusting the tunes you are adding unwanted timing to your engine. Not getting the reburn you are asking for a blown motor.

We will need to know what percentage of meth you are injecting and for what tunes you are using it with to make the adjustment.

I am wanting to run just water for cooling when I pull my 12k camper and when I am in my hot tunes to actually use the power that's there so I am not running in the red on my egt's

You don't need to adjust your tune if you are running water. If the truck "stumbles" it is more than likely you are injecting too much water into the engine. This is commonly called "quench". Should you choose to mix the water with alcohol or methanol then it would be wise to have your tune tweaked due to the addition of a fuel source.
