best replacement transmission

Well my dads transmission has gone out in his 01 f250 (superchip, muffler delete, and all else stock) he tows a 16,000# 5th wheel camper/toy hauler and other then that babies the truck.

I was leaning towards a bts transmission, are there any other options I should look into?

Jaspar beefed up. Don't need a BTS if it ain't hopped up.

i don't know about the jasper but a ford hd tranny might be worth checking into. if you have the funds do a bts and be done. you might want to ditch the superchips and think about a ts with custom tunes

Yeah the more I read I think bts is the way to go, I've been trying to get him to chip his truck for 12 years and finally just did it with the super chips as I had it laying around and didn't tell him.

Bts. They have the best warranty in the business.

Not anymore, he changed it to 2 years. However it is still the best transmission in the business.

Also stock or not, towing that heavy DOES require a built trans.

BTS all the way.

I'd go Ford 4R100HD, apparently a better warranty now than BTS and it can be repaired/warrantied at any Ford dealer.

I will second a Jasper HD tranny, put one in my truck over 3yrs ago, and over 50,000 miles. It did have a 3yr/100,000 mile warrenty with it, I did add the 6.0L cooler and it get's fresh fluid every 16,000 miles because I've done alot of towing for my kids school (marching band trailer) and I have a Keystone Laredo that's pushing over 8,000lbs. I wish I could have gone with a BTS or a J&W performance tranny but at the time the shop only had access too either a Ford HD or the Jasper HD transmissions.

Bts, john woods, ford hd are all good trannys. Im not familiar with jasper but sound good.

Another option is if you have a reputable tranny shop that has experience with beefing up these trannys.

Im happy with my bts. There was a bts in the fs section, not sure if it sold
