What is a wastegate acctuator?

And is this something that needs to be changed out for a Bighead wastegate after I install a programmer?

You dont have to change it, but the stock one will sometimes start to open at less then 8psi!!! You can get a Banks or a Turbomaster controler... It is the brass can on the back of the turbo... I love the turbomaster, easy to ajust and works great!!!
