The best top 10 mods for a 7.3

Looking through the post and alot of guys are always looking for mods to there trucks. I though it would be a good idea to start a list of your top ten mods to the 7.3 and drive line. It can be anything from making the truck run better to all out power.

Let see what you guys come up with.

IMO
1.) 6637 filter
2.) 4" turbo back exhaust
3.) Electric A/C condensor fan (I live in south Georgia and its HOT here)
4.) Window tint
5.) Tuner with digital gauges (SCT livewire TS or Infiniti-DX)
6.) Door lock actuator mod (because they are gonna act up)
7.) 05'+ headlamp upgrade
8.) Turbo surge fix (Wicked wheel, ported housing or turbo upgrade)
9.) PSI fooler if not built into tuner/chip
10.) Harpoon mod if you put the miles on quickly

Of course all of these are AFTER standard maintenance and service!

I think what you're gonna get is, the 10 things anyone did (I have no idea what the guy above me is thinking....) hehehe

For ME it's;

1) JW Valvebody
2) 6.0 Trans Cooler
3) AIS filter
4) 4" SS Exhaust (w/straight-thru Muffler)
5) WickedWheel (for the Whistle if nothing else )
6) FRX & HPX
7) Hutch & Harpoon
8) PHP Tunes (those All-in-Ones SUCK!)
9) 200psi Train Horns (daytime weapon!)
10) 180w LED LightBar (nighttime weapon!)

Anyway,,, that's my truck and the things I did, and am the Happiest with!

My list is not the first 10 items I did but my biggest issues/desires with the superduty 7.3 platform in general...
I can re write my list for engine/drivetrain specific if you would like.

1) Air filter upgrade
2) Exhaust opened up
3) 6.0L trans. cooler
4) EGT,Trans temp gauges
5) PHP Hydra chip
6) Window's tinted
7) Cool looking tires
8) Delete the foil (sounds really cool)
9) Kick arsh Bass stereo system
10) A 5th wheel or Travel Trailer

no specific order

1. 285s
2. explorer a/c bypass mod(need to replace condenser, but it works nicely)
3. rotella ELC
4. pioneer 4000 with 3-ways in all 4 corners(had it from old f150)
5. topper(sleep in the back sometimes)
6. around belt upper radiator hose(must do for all 7.3s)


sure my list will change the longer i own it, have had it since april now.
think the led light bar and mbrp turbo back are on my list of wants, if not a few more things

This is what I've done and its not quite ten, but I'm getting there.
1. 6637 intake
2. 4 inch exhaust
3. Gauges
4. Chip
5. Wheels/tires which happened to already be on truck when I got it
6. Transmission cooler (want item at this point)
And that's it for now.
