Trying to find out if our 7.3 is tuned or not

We bout our 7.3 excursion with a 38r turbo, intake and exhaust. Supposedly never had a tuner on it, yet from a stop throws out a good amount of black smoke. Also, at WOT it hazes black smoke. Is this common on 7.3's? The thing only has 188k miles.

It's not common for a stock truck unless something is wrong. Does the truck feel slow or fast? My guess is if someone went through the hassle and expense of upgrading the turbo, there will at least be a tune on it.

well it shouldnt leave a black cloud if you have a 38r either.
especially with stock sticks.
are you sure its a 38r? so many people get duped into believing they bought a truck with a 38r when its a stock turbo

on stock tune i cant even get any smoke to come out.
even on 80 economy i hardly get any smoke at all.
