What do you guys think of innovative diesels tunes?

I hear a lot about beans and dp for the 7.3's but innovative is really close to me and was wondering what you guys thought of their tunes.

What I do like a lot about beans is that they have the cam tune and smoke tune, If i go to innovative I dont think that they do tunes like that.

Why would you want a cam tune or a smoke tune?

You want your truck to smoke and sound like ****?

Do those tunes make the truck run bad?

I listened to youtube video and the cammed tune sounded cool, but I would never drive around with that on just flip it there every once in a while in a parking lot or something.

And the smoke tune would only be used around friends never around any one else, it would rarley every be used.

Are those tunes bad for the truck?

Schnet what innovative tune are you running? And did your fuel mileage go up 1 to 3 mpg like they advertise?

A smoke tune is never good for the truck... not to mention how dumb it is.

A lope tune, why would someone buy something to make there truck sound like ****?

As to the mileage... Anyone selling a tuner and promising mileage increases is FOS.

I think cammed diesels sound kind of cool myself.

And you dont think a tuner enhancing the tune on a truck will increase fuel mileage? Even if it is one or 2 mpg?

Some tunes will increase MPG, IF they are driven properly. My 6.4 gets WAY better mileage than before I tuned it. But if I beat the guts out of it racing out of every light, it get trash mileage.

Smoke tunes are hard on the engine, black smoke is incompletely burnt fuel, so you are just dumping more fuel in the cylinder than can be effectively burned, this can be a quick path to a melted piston.

The lope tunes, you hear a lot of back and forth on lope tunes, I think they sound neat on some trucks, but others it sound terrible. They way that some people get a lope tune is by commanding way more fuel than is necessary at low idle so the computers cuts out certain parameters to maintain the correct idle RPMs. I've heard some horror stories, other people haven;t had issues, but when I did my own research and learned what was going on for that sound, I opted to steer well clear of that tuning....

Hmm, I was wondering how they made the truck lobe like that, sounds like something I should stay away from then.

And for the fuel mileage, that is expected if you beat on it i know itll get worse but cruising I would think itll get better MPG's

My dad has a 6.4, how what tune are you running on your 6.4 and how do you like it?

6.4... 7.3... same motor right?

DO NOT tune a 7.3 expecting to get better mileage, if it happens fine, but dont expect it.
