CX Dual Core IC & Piping

Any good? Looking to get the EGTs down a bit. I figured the factory cooler can't be very efficient at 40PSI. Please post your opinions on it if you have it on your truck...noticeable gains, install issues, etc. Thanks!

If it counts I run a cx racing I/C on my mustang and the quality was actually beter then I expected.

However, there was a guy on a a mustang forum that when he switched to a treadstone I/C he gained 5psi.

So long story short I think I would go with a better quality I/C like a treadstone so that you are not doing it twice yakno? Thats a lot of boost for a cx IMO

Post a link of one... I've never seen one for the 7.3...

Hypermax is the best on the market, Spearco is close second, Diesel Innovations is right there with them and then there are a few other brands.

What other mods have you done to your truck? What in your mind are high EGT's?

38R, Casserly Single Shots, bellowed up-pipes, BD intercooler boot kit, Stright 4", DP F6, napa intake. Looking at the IDM mod and regulated return soon, and possibly an upgraded HPOP at some point.

EGT's climb to 1200+ before I get out of it. They would keep climbing if I didn't lift. Its making low boost (only 28-30 where it should be 38-40). I've tried everything I can think of to fix it, with no luck. (all new fuel system sensors / solenoids, crank sensor, etc) I am thinking there may be a leak in the IC somewhere that I can't find by pressurizing the system with a compressor. I can't get enough boost to sit in the lines without it going out through the exhaust valves. I would really like to get this thing dialed in finally!

If your letting out at 1200* then your leaving a lot on the table...

Just a quick video of my truck with 230/100 injectors...

Thats with a stock 6.0 IC.

You need to bury the accelerator pedal to see max boost. I don't think an IC is your issue. Tuning is for sure.

I can't really tell what temps you hit there.

I can't stand on it any harder, its just not making the proper boost. Even with the WG line unhooked it won't boost over 31PSI Frustrating seeing stock trucks with a WW2 making over 40. I thought it may be the IPR, ICP, or Crank/Cam Sensor, but after changing all of those, it smoothed it out a bit, but didn't find the boost. Bellowed Up-pipes went in after the 38r, no help. BD intercooler boots didn't help. I'm out of ideas. Wish I had a proper scanner to check for WOT. I've talked it over with Jody @ D-P and he really doesn't have any suggestions either. I've tried different tunes, and the more "performance" tunes just run the EGT's up quicker. Any thoughts would be great.

Like Joe said, 1200 isn't that high wot. I leave the line and im already around 1000*, I haven't ever let out until the end of the track and by that time I've been pegged at 1600 for a while. Check for exhaust leaks, and pressurize the intake and use soapy water, have you also tried different tuning? I know one tuner I can't hit over 35psi, the other tuner I hit 45 like its nothing. Remember boost doesnt mean power too, so you may make 30psi and make the same power as if you were making 40psi
