TS 6pos TQ converter and tranny

I just got my TS 6pos chip and napa filter. Ive heard from people that you shouldnt run the highest setting on a factory converter and tranny. Is this true even with the truck hauling nothing but me? It wont be any time soon that I can upgrade these parts. Thanks in advance for help.

The TS chip on the top setting increases the line pressure of the transmission quite a bit. So the transmission shifts, are hard and positive. I'm not going to say that it won't hurt your trans or not. But the program in the chip does electronically, beef your trans, for less slippage between shifts. As long as your trans is in good shape, it should be alright, as long as you don't beat on it continuously. For your converter, as long as you don't power brake it to death, it should be fine, as long if it is in good shape to start with.

Holy crap! Does anyone elses automatic shift through all the gears w/in a few seconds like mine on the #6 position? This scared me at first thinking that the tranny was slipping but it was just shifting really quick. BTW, its crazy how much faster this truck is now.

It runs strong and shifts pretty firm but on the 140 it shifts pretty solid and goes through the gears really quick. At first it seamed abnormally quick to shift but I gues it may be the close ratios. Is this normal?

If you mean pretty quick as in the tranny shifts sooner than stock, I have been told that is the program. It is economical and also gets you into the trucks power range quicker. Keep playing with it. ITS ADDICTIVE!!!!!

Yeah, it shifts very soon but it stays pretty high in the tach. It moves really quick and its in overdrive in no time.

I drive mine around in the 75 horse mode most all the time. If I click up to 140 it shifts to darn hard in normal driving, with the tweaks I have in my trans. But at wide open throttle you know it's not slipping, it rocks.

Yeah I have the 6spd with my TS and in the 140 I can hardly keep up to shift. The darn thing spools sooo fast. I usually run mine the 100 hp setting all the time. If you are easy on it you get very little smoke that way and I have been told that is the best setting for mpg increase. But it will be a month or two before you start seeing any increases. You will be playing with it till then. Have fun!
