PMR VS FORGED... ( the write up )

Quote:
Ideally the PMR rods have a higher tensile strength and greater hardness then the Forged rods, but they were also much more brittle, and when used with an unreinforced crankcase were more prone to breakage than the much more forgiving Forged rods. Rule of thumb is no more than 400hp with PMR’s, and up to 500hp with the Forged.
good to 400hp

Forged have proven to hold well above 600 with good tuning as well.

Things have changed alot since that was written.

Well its off of ebay... Meaning you get no support, your not supporting the vendors that make this forum (the one you just asked your question on free of charge) and its flebay...

Call up Power Hungry Performance or the likes and get a chip. You may pay a few bucks more, but your supporting our vendors.

Not only are you supporting our vendors, but you'll be getting a chip with better tunes, and ones that will work with your truck. Not all PCM's are equal.

PHP, seconded. I love mine. Still surprises people how quick an otherwise stock stick shift 8k pound diesel truck can be :-).

Food for thought, I made over 500hp on pmrs for around 6 monthps. Now i wouldn't trust pmrs at that high of hp forever but I wouldn't be afraid of anything under 450 like joe said.

X2 on a chip from php, the price you saw on ebay isn't even a great price for a ts tuned chip, they can be had for less.
