Smile Just installed DIY Tymar Intake ...

I finally broke down and did the DIY Tymar Intake and it doesn't take long at all. After I finished up, cleaned my hands, I took the truck out for a quick spin and WOW It made a huge difference in how my truck runs. I love the sound of the turbo spooling up! as for turbo lag there is a marked difference now. My next install will be a 4" exhaust and a TS 6 chip w custom tunes.

Jim

Looks good and functions good no matter what year your truck is

PIS 175/80's, Van Turbo with EBPV, BD Billet Wheel
Lots of money spent at RiffRaff
Holley fuel pump, in tank mods, crappy riding leveling kit, DP-F6, 5 Gauges+Edge CS in dash, CB radio in Dash, over 100 goofy little mods
Still pretty slow, just less slow now.

Was thinking about doing this, but had a question. Did it increase the noise inside the truck?

Thanks

Not to much noise.

The only thing I have noticed is that you can hear the turbo alot easier, but that is only when you put your foot to it. On the freeway not noticeable at all. The truck is a little quicker now.

Ok might have to buy the wix filter and try in on my 02. But I plan on making it somewhat enclosed.

Very nice! Can't wait to get mine done.

The only thing I noticed is that you clamped your filter directly to that steel exhaust pipe..... I remember doing mine like that along time ago on another truch and that filter did not seem to give a whole lot as far as making an air tight seal.

You might want to keep an eye on that, as that clamp will sometimes want to work its way off there sometimes.

Just FYI
