Coolant filter mounting???

I started it in another forum some how by accident.

Coolant filter orientation???

Can filter be mounted horizontally without filter contaminants draining back into engine?

The 6.7 guys are probably scratching their heads on that one wondering where there's any room if at all. I personally wouldn't because of the mess when changing filters and the negative stresses placed on the box (not sure where you specifically are mounting). I wouldn't mount anything to the stock box. Vibration and gravity could foil the whole operation depending on how you mount up.

Here's a great thread with some answers: Coolant filter question

x2 on not mounting horz due to mess aspect. I got the the dieselsite coolant filtration. I know plenty of people who have made their own thats identical to mine (same concept). works great. I got ball valves before and after mine to cut off coolant to it for changing

Mines been mounted to the AFE intake box for years, filter sitting sideways. No issue at all.

Thanx for the boost of confidence. I am going to use the port in the waterpump just under the upper hose outlet, If it did flow backwards it would go right into waterpump and that might not hurt but it sounds.....not good anyway.
