Need some turbo tech help

Is the real deal? It really a gtp-38r or just a stock turbo? I was told my turbo is slowly dieing from a diesel tech at work. Is this worth the money?

I would bet it is a stock gt38 that came on the truck. The buyer that paid $860 is going to be either pissed or bragging to his buddies only to later find out he got clowned. Poor sucker.....
