HPOP
Hey guys I did the test on my HPOP tonight well I think I did ok not sure tho.I did the test that swampsdiesel.com has I used my scanner in KPA a good HPOP will run 19,310 which = 2800psi I drove the truck from 60-90 got high as 19,000 kpa then leveled out at 13,000 KPA which is 1885 psi so 1900psi is ok I guess for a early 99which has a 15deg pump.Do you guys think I should do a 17deg pump in my truck or wait till the pulse pump comes out and get that im gonna run stage 3s mini me hybrid injectors I want them to perform as best as they can.I dont get any ICP codes in a high tune which you normally would get with a chip the only code I get is a p1249 which is a wastgate code cause I have mine blocked off so what do you all think I should do here.

You can order the pulse now!! You may not get it for a month but you can still order it. From what I heir Hybrid Injectors will do ok with the stockers but anything else you want Big oil and the PULSE is the Hot ticket if you ask me. I cant wait till I Get it!!!

Seriously call them I will suggest to anyone call and talk to them they will answer any I mean any question you have without trying to sell you something. to tell you the Truth i think i try to sell it to people more than they do.

Are you running stock injectors? Your pressure is low for AB codes. From 60+ I never drop under 2600. Does not matter if it's chipped or not.
I'd look into replacing the IPR. |

Swap the IPR first. Then if that does not help then a new pump is in order. It will not be wasted money because the new pump you buy will not come with an IPR. 1900PSI is too low, that is why I went to my twin HPOP's.

Mine was running 1900 or less with the original 15* pump and my new injectors, the new 17* HPOP pump now holds 2800, it is a noticeable improvement and cost $350 and took about 3 hours. I hear the 17* swap may or may not work depending on if you get lucky and get a good pump or not. I figured worse case scenario was I could use my original pump and my new $350 pump and a DIY dual pump kit for about $900 and have a real big oil dual pump system for about $1400. I may still do that in the future but for mow the 17* one is doing good enough. It sounds like a good idea to try the IPR first, much easier and cheaper plus you’ll still need it for a new HPOP.
Here is some more reading on it new model 17* HPOP for early 99 Last edited by alabamafrog; 02-25-2008 at 07:38 AM. |
