opinions / advice on turbo
Saw this and wonder if this would be a good replacement??
eBay Motors: 7.3 POWERSTROKE HIGH PERFORMANCE TURBOCHARGER MUST SEE! (item 320218479352 end time Mar-15-08 19:36:44 PDT) I am getting alot of surge or stall now. Will be getting DP and straight 5" very soon so the EVO will be gauges only. Thanks for your input in advance |

looks to me all that is is a rebuilt stocker.
Maybe I'm wrong but that is not a ported housing. for a rebuilt stock that ain't a bad price, but being non wastegated you would have to change your exhaust outlet also. I would go with an ATS housing (which is ported) and wicked wheel instead though. That will fix your surge |

LOL Ported... Too funny... Not a bad price for a rebuilt turbo with the 1.00 exhaust housing. If you need a turbo I would get it, but if not a ATS housing would stop your surge issues. Keep in mind with that turbo you are going to need an outlet to bolt your down pipe to. I dont see him selling that there.

My fav turbo set up was a stocker with a 1.00 exhaust housing, ATS compressor housing and a WW... FUN FUN FUN... but it would never live now. |

FYI, I had a Suncoast in the Dodge and went through 3 converters in under 40K

That is an EXHAUST housing. It can help with surge too, If you did that and a WW it would eleminate 90% of your surge... Good price too. ATS Compressor housing is here... ATS Ported Shroud Compressor Housing If you look inside the compressor housing you can see what a "real" ported housing looks like... |

wicked wheel alone cured mine and your not gonna make enough power to come close to needing a 5" exhaust unless you really want just to say you have it heck your turbo outlet is only 2.8" 4" is more than enough and cheaper just an fyi incase you didnt know
