Sounded like a jet

I was in Sarasota this past weekend in a bass tournament. When I was trailering my boat I heard what I thought was a low flying g2 jet. I turned around and to my surprise it was a 99-04 modded out F250 dually with what looked to me like a 18 to 24" lift with big rig mud tires. The truck was freaking awesome I was jealous. The guy had it named "All Jacked up". What tripped me out the most though was the sound this thing was making I noticed he had what had to be a six inch exhaust but that wasn't what was making th roar it had to be a super big turbo or something. I don't understand why it would be whining at such low rpm's though. What do you guys think he had done to that monster? Whatever it was I want to do it because it sounded like it was powerful.

I have a 03 6.0 with a 4 -,9: turbo back and intake and that thing sounds like a jet just sitting there and when I take off its like a jet fly by

The 03 6.0's and early 04's sound like jets with at straight pipe. It was more than likely the stock turbo.

yea that 6.0 is a little whinny for me. the guy across the street from me has one. even with a muffler it whinnes a bunch.

MINE SOUNDS LIKE A JET TO I HAVE 5INCH WITH A MUFFLER THAT I TURNED BACKWARDS SO THE BAFFLES DONT CATCH ANY EXHAUST GASES. THE MUFFLER IS JUST FOR LOOKS NOW
