2001 auto tranny upgrade

I have a auto trans 4wd truck with 177k miles and I was thinking about getting a new valvebody. Question is how is the BTS valve bodies and should I mess with my tranny with this many miles on the stock trans and seems to be holding together decently this long.. I just have a Superchips tuner and I/E.

I'd start save for new trans but a valve might help shifts for awhile

I put in a JW valve body and I bought my truck at 160K. Knowing nothing about my trucks driven history, it's held together just fine. It shifts nice and firm, and I'm not concerned about cross country road trips. To be noted, I don't pull 20K either. A cross country trip would consist of a loaded bed.

you can also get a 6.0 cooler as well.
this keeps the transmission much cooler.

Big cooler, better valve body, and no superchips are the best things for your trans.

Hate to say it, you have the worst year for a trans. A vb, cooler and tc may help but chances are you'll blow out the mechanical diode before anything else breaks, that's the weak link on the 01 trans.

Sold 2001 f250 ccsb 4x4 400/400, dual terminators, swamps 80mm bfh, headers, bts and all the usual supporting mods. 715hp fuel only.

True except for the superchips. Brian at BTS has told me personally a few times that Superchips brand actually has some of the best tuning for the 4R100. Edge, well, that's another can of worms.
