Exhaust ?'s...

I have a stock powerstroke that I'm ordering an AFE stage 2 intake for, DP tuner, and exhaust for.I was curious what size to go with?I'm gonna run a single exhaust. 4" or 5" ? Is the performance difference? Also what is the difference between running aluminized vs stainless? Sorry, I'm totally new to diesel stuff, just bought my first diesel truck 2 days ago.

No differance from 4 to 5 other then sound... At no power level is 5" needed. If you like the look of the 5" get it... if not the 4" is great.

SS if you live where they salt the roads... if not AL will be fine.

Aluminized 4in straight piped sounds awesome and performs just as well.

Thanks for your replies. I live in southern california. So no salting of the roads , and the weather is pretty decent year round so like you said, aluminum 4 inch straight pipe should work best for me. Any suggestions on where to order it from? I'm looking to run just a single 4 inch setup and was curious about how much that'll run.

I got my 4" system from Farm Boys Diesel and it was great! Easy install. I went with the stainless, only because the price was Fabulous. I paid more for my old Dodge's aluminumized system than Gus' 4" SS. I too live in So Cal but you never know where me and my truck will go!
