Intercooler Upgrade, for example

My truck has the upgrades per my signature below. The AFE was there when I purchased the truck, and I added the 4" exhaust. The exhaust made a noticeable difference. In addition, I have just ordered the Hydra chip and based on what I have read, it will make quite a difference as well.

My question is are there other upgrades that you will really notice other than bigger injectors, larger turbo, etc. For instance, will i really see some differences if I put $1,000 into a new intercooler, or the Zoodad mod, etc.

Looking for some guys that did some things that looking back really was not worth the effort. This may be subjective, but I think you guys get where I am going with this.

Thanks in advance....

You're not gonna notice a performance gain with an intercooler. Turbo, injectors and fuel system are the next steps to feel big gains.

What would be your recommendation for a fuel upgrade?

You'd have to go with an after market pump and then depending on injector size, you'd have to upgrade to a bigger HPOP.

Can do a WW2 for a little more gusto

PIS 230/80's, Van Turbo with EBPV, BD Billet Wheel
Lots of money spent at RiffRaff
Dual SD fuel pumps, in tank mods, CNC Fab bowl retain kit. SDK Tunes. Isspro.
Still pretty slow, just less slow now.

Yeah, I am looking to put in the WW2. but plan to make it an event. I plan to pull the turbo when I do that, and while I have it off, put in a TurboMaster, new pedestal, high flow outlet, and maybe even bellowed up-pipes while I have it off. I ask these questions as I am thinking of just getting all the parts I want to replace and just making a three day event of it. While I have the truck half torn down, may as well do it all at once and be done with it.

If you were willing to spend $1K on an intercooler, then I would suggest upgrading the turbo while you have it out. You could put a GTP38R in there. With a stock setup it won't really add any power, but the compressor efficiency map is much at better keeping you in the sweet spot (out of surge) under high load (towing).

Even if you don't replace the turbo, make sure you replace the pedestal O-rings while you have everything apart. It is a bit of work to pull it out and put it back in, but its not too hard.
