DP tuner install question?
I'm not trying to be an idiot, but I would rather ask than mess my truck up. I'm at the step where I am cleaning the contacts. I removed the silicon and have started to clean the contacts with the brillow pad. The question is... do I have to remove all or most of the copper so that the tin is showing? There are several of the contacts that are starting to show the tin. Or do I clean so that the copper is showing? Someone please help clarify. Thanks

Stop cleaning. If you keep cleaning your going to damage the contacts. All you want to do is get all the silicone off so you can have a good contact with the chip and the board in the PCM. I have to say you accomplish that. I suggest you hook it up and see how it works. Before you clean any more.

Well, I got it all hooked up and it started right up!!! Didn't seem to be any problems. I took it out for a ride and the truck ran great. I have 80 tow, 80 econ, and 120. I switched through the different settings with no problems. I could hear the turbo whistling. Didn't get on it to much, just enough to hear it. I came to a stop before changing settings. Can they be changed while the truck is moving?

your tunes can be changed on the go just make sure you have the chip installed and duct taped into the pcm tight, Dianne told me that the chip wiggling around could cause damage.
