DIY Intake

Well I just got my Baldwin filters ordered. I am doing both trucks, the filters ran me $55.24 for 2. Is this a good price? Any tips before I do the install. You guys have convinced me to get away from the K & N. I hope to do some comparison tests and report back with my findings.

It’s a simple mod and made my truck sound cooler and felt like it gave my truck a little kick.

I ended up cutting away pretty much everything behind the battery. After thinking about it, I should have spent a little more time on it and left some of the air box so the incoming air from the zoodad mod would be directed at the filter a little more. O well some day ill probably end up making something out of metal that will do the same thing.

You will have a sensor that was in the factory airbox, most just zip tie that up out of the way. At first I left mine hanging and after a few days it flopped out and was dangling in the wheel well. Then I tied it up out of the way.

I just went to summit and bought the size inlet I wanted and matched up some pipe with it. You can use 4" exhaust tubing, or just go to home depot w/your stock inlet tube and your filter of choice and get something that works. Here is a link to some filters at summit racing . . . Summit Racing - High Performance Car and Truck Parts | 800-230-3030 part# SUM-239302 works good and is only $30.
