is a fuel pump worth having

can anyone let me know...i wanna get one of them fass fuel pumps but does it really help????idk if my pump is bad or what ive tried 3 factory ones (used) but it seems like they dont have enough pressure...i even run out of fuel at a 1/4 tank it sucks..any help

1st of all...running out of fuel at 1/4 tank usually is due to a sending unit that has built up resistance and isnt reading correctly....so even though it says a quarter tank..your actually almost empty..

running out of fuel is VERY..and i mean VERY hard on fuel pumps...that could be part of your problem. The fuel lubricates the pump...so running it out of fuel can damage the pump...especially used ones......

a FASS pump wont fix the problems you described....these motors can never have enough fuel available (even though most of it will be returned to the tank in most situations since the fass will provide more than the motor can use unless your at wide open throttle) but running out of fuel is hard on pumps...injectors.. basically the whole fuel system..

start by making sure you dont have a fuel gauge problem...and dont run it out of fuel

haha i ran out about 4 hours ago....i think somethig is messed up cause my truck hasnt ran the same since my fuel filter cap blew off... what about that fuel bowl delete how does that help???

What kind of fuel pressure are you running to blow off the filter cap?

It seems to me that if your fuel pump can not provide enough pressure that the cap would not have blown off. The factory setting is 53psi +/- 5psi, IIRC.

idk i have never checked i got some cheap fuel pump from autozone so it cant be to much....but i dont think it blew off because of to much presure i think it was the wrong cap..
