KNN tube with 6637 problems? or advice?

Long story short, I attempted to replace my knn filter with a 6637 onto the knn intake tube. I couldn't get it to fit, it would not clear the hood. I didn't want to cut the battery tray or whatever, so I was thinking about ordering the 6637 intake kit from beans diesel but still wasn't sure what i wanted to do. Today I figured i would give the 6637 one more try. I was able to move the knn intake tube and get the 6637 to fit better. I got the hood to close with a little extra push. On my first attempt I was even close to getting the hood to close.

Anyway I drove the truck with the 6637. Everything seems and feels good, if not better. Is it OK that the hood is resting on the 6637? It looks like its not getting much air. One side of the filter is against the battery, the top is against the hood?

Sorry in advance that there is another 6637 or intake post, just figured I could get advice from a veteran or two. Thanks.

Even touching you have way more flow than anything else. And it fits very tight no matter what. Did you remove the bottom of the stock airbox? If not, if you do it will fit just fine.

I didn't remove the bottom of the intake box. Isn't it attached to the battery tray?

Maybe I'll try that. Why do hear about people trimming the tray if they can just remove it?

Not sure. Everyone I know, including myself, removed it and did the zoo dad mod. Do some searching here. Both are really easy.

I've done the zoo dad mod. I'll take another look at the intake. Thanks for the help.
