DIY Exhaust brake

Been reading threads about how to do this MOD, how effective would this be on my 2000 7.3 if i do not have a tc lockup mod? Im still up in the air if im gonna do this or not.

I don't know enough to tell you one way or another. I do trust folks that know better than me. I think you would be better off installing an actual exhaust brake.

I have a 2003 7.3 with a 6 speed and when I bought the truck a few years ago it had the ebpv already set up as an exhaust brake. I'll have to take a look when I get home but I know there is a relay and a switch associated with it. It activates a couple seconds after I let off the accelerator pedal. I've towed almost 17000 lbs with it and it works awesome. Never had any issues with it at all.
