Air Intake

One of my friends told me to cut the plastic away where the battery intake vents to the front grill. It looks like it has a slant degree so objects can get sucked into the air box. Has anyone done this & has anyone had any problems doing this? Thanks

Zoodad mod. Do it. Just put a screen over the hole cutout.
