valve body install

For the valve body install ive read some of the instructions and have read that there is no gasket in there but in some of the pictures on the install pages i saw it looks like there is some sort of rubber plate or gasket with a bunch of holes and what not in it, does this stay in there or does it come out witht the new valve body?? I might be wrong but just thought i would check before i get the thing all tore apart and dont know what to do. Thanks in advance

when you look at the 5th picture down, what is that black plate in there, im just wondering what that is and if it needs to be there with the new valve body, thanks

When you look at the next couple of pix it appears its behind the transgo plate? If you have a BTS I would give them a jingle in the morning to make sure. I would suspect it needs to be there.

yea thats what it looks like, i have a john wood VB, i will have to give him a call unless anyone knows i guess, thanks for the help

That thing you think is a rubber plate if I can picture this right is what everyone else is saying, it's just the shift plate or whatever each place calls it. My BTS VB's plate was just sheet metal, unless you're looking at something else. You really don't need it - it'll work without it, but since they supply it you might as well use it.

The directions om guzzles page is pretty straight forward as you can get.

I have a john wood VB on order and his doesnt have a shift plate so im guessing i just take that rubber shift plate out of there???
