Restrictive Tymar
I have a 2001 F-250 with tw tunes, a Tymar intake, "5 MBRP exhaust, a 1.15 exhaust housing and a wicked wheel. Lately I've noticed when I get on it it sucks the filter minder in. My question is do I need a better filter or what?

Im thinking about an AFE big boost filter. Does anyone run that filter? Any response is appreciated.

You're having an issue with a Napa 6637 filter? Never heard of that. That IS the better filter. I wouldn't use the filter minder. Personally, I don't think that it's strong enough for what the truck desires.

well if you werent getting enough air your egts would be high and you would have a lot of smoke
are you epxeriencing any of these symptoms |

Well its hard to say unless I were to take it for a ride without an air filter.

Don't drive it without an air filter. He asked if your egt's are high and if their is black smoke.

What im saying is all my mods were done pretty close together so I have no comparison to anything other than stock. My egts get to about 1400 (which I think is fine) and the only comparison I have for smoke is without a chip so its hard to say. The fact remains the filter minder will only pull in if the air filter is a restriction so thats where the problem is.

I think the filter minder is the problem

And how did you come to that conclusion.
