Early 99 FPS???

Well i wanted to spend some time on my truck today. the first order of business was to shim the FPR but i got hung up. The pic of the fuel bowl in the 7.3 tech files is different than what i have on my truck. Where is it on the early 99? I have looked at the pics and mine is deffently different! thanks for the help.

There are two lines into the fuel filter on the driver side. The top one is 5/16" and the bottom one is 3/8". The bottom one is the feed line and the top one with the two torx bolts is the regulator spring housing. From there the instructions are the same. Use a bolt and grind the head off to about 1/8" thick to start.

Well got it done and i tell you...anyone that owns a psd is DUMB to not take the 15 minutes to do this mod! It spools up faster and runs a little harder!

please explain this mod. i have a 99 7.3 and am interested in upgrades. does this mod turn up the fuel pump? and how do i go about it? thank you

Hey Craig the FPR turns up the fuel pressure. Where in Mo are you at?

I go to Kc frequently. I have not done this yet. It appears like you take the top line off of the fuel filter and add the shim, or bolt which appears to be easier. Pm eaton or strokin early 99 and see if they will shoot you some pics.

If I do the fuel Regulated Return Fuel System kit do I need to shim the fuel filter bowl regulator?

Id like to do this mod, but i dont have a fuel pressure gauge yet is it anything to worry about? also, are my EGTS going to run higher becuase of more fuel?
