early 99 turbos

I have a early 99 PS, I am looking to upgrade the turbo, I cant find many options, anybody have any ideas.

The D66 is the only "drop in" performance turbo for the '94-97, & early '99 powerstrokes. Hopefully Strokin' early 99 will be along to talk some about it. I believe he used one for a while and was pretty happy with it.

I have about 1500 miles or so on my truck since the D66 went in and I love it. I am very satisfied with it so far anyhow it'll hold boost without falling on its face or surging at all in any way. The only reason i dont like it is because it makes it easier to drive the truck on the 140 setting, i dont have to worry about egt's getting to high to quick, i dont have to be scared of it surging she just rocks and rolls coal. so haha thats not really a bad thing just gonna get me in trouble

BD does not make a turbo for an early99.

Banks does not make a turbo for the 7.3, period. The sell parts to modify it.

ATS does not make a turbo for an early99.

Now, for the meat of the post. As said before, the Dominator 66 (D66) from Beans is the only drop in performance turbo for the early99. It is a stock turbo that is machined out to accept a 66mm compressor wheel, that is 10% larger than stock. I flows enough air to clean up my B code injectors. If you want to see how it runs, click on sled pulls in my sig and watch the two pulls at the top of the page. I towed with this turbo with stock parts, then with big oil and then with B codes. It tows like a dream and it has no turbo lag at all. EGT's were always in check. With the truck loaded for a trip the truck weighs a tad over 10K and the trailer I pull weighs 10K.

theres upgrades like previously stated and then there are turbos like turbonotics bd etc etc all depends on how much dough u want to spend!!

Start looking for all new components for the 99.5+ setups when you move to these turbo's.

+1 on the D66 drop in turbo upgrade.
