97 cummins race

my brother N law jus bought a 97 cummins has straight pipe 4'' verry verrrryyyy large air filter rebuilt tranny and said it's chiped but dont know what kind or whare it's at or anything so i dont belive that but do you guys think i can take him or should i not keep asking him to race oh yeah it only has the 12 valve insted of the 24 like the 98's so that helps me out a bit but i dont know i think i can take him i HOPE

oh yeah it has wider and taller tires and exteded cab like mine but his is a long bed

Well you cant chip a 12v, but if they changed some stuff around in his injection pump he might be pretty fast.

good point if he said quote "yaaaa its gotta chip in it" then hes b.s.'in BUT a straight pipe, massive filtered can be a fight. BUUUUT when you say hes got a rebuilt tranny...... thats a huge problem half of a drag race depends on the performance of the tranny
