Ats valve body

Looking for some advice on doing a valve body, have done a lot of different things but I've always been intimidated by transmission work. Love the old manuals they are so much easier but trying to figure out automatics! Looking at a ATS valve body, is it worth the money or go a different route?

BTS (Brian's Truck Shop) in AR and John Wood (in CA I believe) are two of the more popular valve bodies for the 4R100.

Haven't heard the greatest stuff about ATS and their warranties but I have no personal experience with them either...
