how much power can my stock tranny hold

alright so i am starting to do modifactions to my truck it has 177000miles on it the truck shifts good and seems strong. i want to know how much power i can add to my truck . i eventually want to do a manual swap with a south bend clutch but not before i have the money.

Stock, not much. Add a valve body and a good tc and it'll hold up a little longer. I'm at 500+hp on mine and it gets beat on a lot, but I never expected it to hold anything and I expect it to fail every time I drive. I'm just waiting on it to blow to build it, if you push the limits you will find them quickly. I wouldn't put more than 400 to it if you want it to live.
