Posting for a friend.. 00 7.3

Has a kt performance ts chip and when first plugged in works fine then trans stops shifting, then pull the chip out and trans is back to normal and shifting.

What could it be?

Probably bad chip and/or program since the shift points and line pressures are changed with the programming that most tuners use.

Your friend has an auto, chip sounds like it was burned for a manual. Just send it back and have them burn it correctly.
