TS vs. Tony Wildman

Hey everyone. I was curious if anyone might know what the difference between the two chips. The reason for asking is because I've seen on Tony's website that you can send him your old TS chip and he will reprogram it for you. I suppose my question is Tony's chip simply a reprogrammed TS? If so how much different can it really be? Anyone with first hand experience with both these chips?

Only reason I ask is because my TS chip finally bit the dust in my mud truck, and I was looking to replace it, with either another TS or a Tony Wildman tune.

I also plan on putting one in my 00' F550, which is the tow rig for the my mud truck.

Just looking for a little insight and everyone's "m2c". Thanks!

Ts is canned tunes. Tony is custom tunes, shifts are going to be different. I would recommend getting tonys tunes.

Yes get tonys tunes, what a difference in a truck let me tell ya. I just got them in my TS and i couldnt believe the mileage i picked up for highway travel and how much smoother the shifts are. Its definitely worth the money.

Thanks for the info fellas. Not worried about shifts due to the fact the tow rig is a manual and the mud truck is upgraded with an Allison 545.

Excuse me for being a bit amateur here but what does canned mean?

But what I'm hearing is that Tony's tunes in general prove to be better tuned to the engine than a TS?

Thanks for the input fellas. Now comes the second question, is the extra 200 bucks really worth it?

Absolutely! Tony will hook you up. Super nice guy to deal with, too.
