so today I went to install my ts 6 pos chip and after installing it the truck throws a CEL code but if i go to give it throttle nothing happens but if I give it full throttle the CEL goes away and the engine revs but as soon as I let off the throttle same thing happens CEL comes on and no throttle So I just took the chip completley out started the truck no CEL but no throttle. and YES the connections are clean. Has anyone had a similar probelm? any advice? I can use any help rite now thanks.

What all have you done to your truck? The first thing I was thinking is clean connections and make sure it is pushed on all the way. Other than that...do you know what code you were throwing?

just the usual chip intake exhaust I've had to re-install this chip a couple times before so I know the chips not bad but this is the first time I've ever had problems with it. come to think of it I dont think I took the negative battery cables off this time first could that cause this?

Haven't had the problem. Clear the codes. You apparently set a throttle coherency fault. You may be in limp-in, so no throttle. Do you have a scan tool?

I don't have one but I should prob go pick one up. Could I just disconnect the negative terminals for 10 min? Would that reset the light? bc I already tried that and CEL come on immedatly

When you say no throttle do you mean that you push it down, the engine will not increase RPM?

well i just got a obd II scanner and I hooked it up but it says theres no codes even though the CEL is on. But yeah i'll give it throttle and the rpm's stay the same until I give it full throttle then it will rev up.

sounds like the throttle it self. check all of the plugs on the pedel. Also try to hold hte throttle to one side while you depress it. The throttles have been known to go bad.
