Early 99 PSD

Ok i guys i got the early 99 PSD. It has the AB Injectors in it. Does anyone out there have one and put a aftermarket exhaust and intake on it. Also anything about injectors and a new turbo would be very helpful. I am trying to increase power and "milage".. well thats what the wife needs to know. I wanna know how far i can go with it. Thanks

early 99 should have forged rods... so somewhere near 500 HP should be the upper limit..

as far as intake -- look at AFE or AEM or Volant -- AFE is generally reguarded as the best (Stage 2)

Exhaust -- ANY 4" exhaust will help on EGT's once you start tuning the truck

Make sure before you start tuning, that you get Guages, either digital or analog, so you can know what is going on with your truck..

Injectors I don't know much about cept you can buy some that will up the HP by certain amounts and along with turbo's , are expensive

Early '99 had 120 cc injectors that should get you just shy of 300 HP. Any good exhaust will be a good upgrade and you should add a better intake. The filtration of the stock intake leavs a lot to be desired. We used to have one with a SCT tuner and it was very strong. Get a good chip and gauges and you probably won't want injectors.

The only two intakes that work on the early 99 are the AFE stage 2 and the AIS.

Any 4" exhaust will work but the kitty cat will have to run away and hide on the top shelf of the garage for it to fit.

TW chip is the best for the early99 tuning. Get gauges at the same time. They are important.
Forget the superchips tuners, it melts turbine wheels, don't ask how I know.

Aftermarket turbo-D66 from Beans diesel performance. It flows a lot more air and it did great with my stock injectors.




So some looking back on the forum about one to two weeks ago. There has been a lot of early99 questions asked and answered lately.

next on my list is a Beans D66 then if i still need more ...... injectors I'll need more

btw... I emailed Beans already, got a real quick response and they also told me I could run the D66 with stock sticks and it would be a great improvement over the Garrett I have now. they gave me the flow numbers for my stock one and the D66 but I cant find it now I had wrote it down

Well, if you want real power, follow my mod list

If you have any inkling that you might want more power down the road get the H2E now. I will save you a bunch of money down the road.

I never said to build the most power follow mine...

for the most part I think the average person would be happy with the basic mods..(custom tunes,intake, exh, guages) then there are people like you and I and some others on this site that will never be happy with the power they have...

btw you should sell me your D66 I have a nice white home for it!!!!!
