need to shed some EGT's

i need to get rid of some exhaust temp. and turbo surge. i was wondering if a WW and wastegate would do the trick or if i need the ATS housing? I was hoping a ww and big head wastegate would get rid of my problem anyone know first hand?

To get rid of the surge I have only herd the ATS housing is better than the WW. It is a lot more coin than the WW but that is what I have herd. From what have read the WW will get rid of about 85-90% of the surge and the ATS will get rid of all of it. Again, I have read this only, I have an early99 and it had the WW in it from the factory.

One of the ways to lower the EGT's is tuning. TS is very aggressive. When I got rid of my TS and put in the DP tuner the EGT's went down about 150*. Another way is to go with a 1.0exhaust housing, it causes less backpressure and will not run as hot. All of the parts I am refering to can be viewed here: 99-03turbo

FYI, I have had chips from TW, DP, Diablo Sport, TS and BD Power as well as a superchips tuner. So for chips I have had all of the above, I am not repeating what others have embellished upon online.

I have the WW but not the ATS and have zero surge. I run a TS chip and don't have any problems with high EGT's either.

Ditto what this guy said... I have 7 chips floating around the truck and shop... No wait, 8, forgot the one in the X...LOL

ATS housing will fix your surge, thats what I had. But it will do nothing for EGT's...

The 1.00 housing on the turbo will drop EGT's a bunch and help with surge, might be able to kill two birds with one stone...

I wouldn't recommend the I.C. to lower egts. My egts didn't change at all when I put in the spearco. Water inj. is the only way to go.

You have to be one of the first ones I have heard of that a Sperco did not drop temps in???

When I rebuilt my turbo I installed a WW and a 1.0 A/R housing with the WG and EBPV delete. Have ZERO surge and the EGT's dropped about 100 degrees on my POST turbo pyro. (yeah yeah...I know I need a Pre-Turbo!!!)
