I also have one on my truck. I've been contemplating going to the 6637 mod people always talk about.
I'm not disagreeing with the K&N horrors by any means, I just would like to hear more background regarding how quickly they fail. If anyone knows, is anything salvageable from a K&N kit if you decide to go the 6637 route? For example they piping? Thanks |

Absolutely keep the tube that says K&N, fits the 6637 perfect. As far as driving conditions... I drive regular roads with the occasional gravel road to my buddies house. I only had it on my truck for 6 months.

No problem. Why pay 250 dollars for something that will ruin your truck versus something that's 5 times better and a fourth of the price

One last question, if my K&N has been letting dirt by, can I look inside the intake tube to verify this? Or is it necessary to go in deeper and inspect the actual turbo?

That tube will tell it all, at least it did on mine.

what intake did you have prior to this one? was it the stocker one? Did you check the stocker for leaks, was the filter box loose? Did you use the k&n drop in filters as well?
6 months seems awfully fast for regular roads.. just trying to gauge what i should expect with mine. Im not home for another month or so, i wont know unless my gf pulls the tube and sends me pics. |
